A beautiful video has gone viral showing the moment a young girl discovers she’s going to be adopted after three years in foster care. (see below)
Paige Zezulka shared the emotional clip on Facebook, which shows 10-year-old Ivey Zezulka opening up a box containing confirmation of her adoption.
And that’s not all: along with Ivey, her biological brother and sister — Kai, 3, and Lita, 2 — will also be adopted by Paige and Daniel Zezulka of Athens, Georgia.
The adoption of all three children was finalized last week.
“This will be my favourite video I ever share,” the post read. “This was the day we told our daughter that we were going to be able to adopt her (and her brother and sister)!”
“She had been praying to be adopted and we found out on her birthday that it was going to happen! So the next day we gave her this surprise box! God’s timing was perfect!”
The young girl can be seen sitting at a table with Ms Zezulka and her husband. When she reads the note inside the box her face crumples as she begins to cry with emotion before hugging her new parents.
The family hopes their story will inspire those who feel called to foster a child to do so, and those who don’t to support the people in their lives that do.
“Ivey is so wonderful and special, and we are so blessed she is our daughter. Sometimes people are afraid to consider older kids, they think they may be ‘damaged.’ We hit the jackpot.
Ivey is so grateful and thankful. She tells us we are wonderful parents, and she has gratitude to be in a family, for being safe and loved. She’s wonderful and we are so blessed she is our daughter.”
